The Arena
Angerton Steads Training Arena is a floodlit 70m x 40m all weather surface and organises training from the best local, national and international trainers providing a unique opportunity to develop both horse and rider in the heart of Northuumberland. There is ample parking and easy access.
Angerton Steads Training Arena was constructed with help from a DEFRA grant to help to diversify some land on the farm. The Arena was constructed by Jim Woods, a local drainage and excavation contractor from Haydon Bridge. The work took three months to complete. It comprises a surface of silica sand and chunks of rubber and fibre. There are ten floodlights around the outside to allow use in the dark evenings and early mornings all year round.
At one end of the arena a portable cabin has been installed to provide shelter and coffee making facilities are available.
A complete set of show jumps is available for use. As well as booking onto organised training sessions (see our Training Events page for details) the arena is available to be hired by individuals for their own use. Clubs and groups are also welcome to hire the facilities and to bring their own chosen trainers. See our Hiring the Arena page for more details.
The arena was launched with a fantastic training event with the legendary Lucinda Green, MBE.
If you have any suggestions for training events or instructors you would like to see at the arena please contact us or speak to Sarah when you visit.
